Wilhaven Shiba Inu

Welcome .... I am pleased to share information and photos of my companions with you.

I've been fortunate to share my life with some really wonderful dogs. My formal 'life with dogs' began with Rottweilers in 1986. Showing and competing in conformation and performance events quickly became a passion.

Shiba Inu's entered my life in 1990 and they have brought about so many wonderful things and also presented some interesting challenges.

I have a limited breeding program, only planning a litter when I am ready to add another dog to my own home. Being a responsible and reputable breeder is something I take seriously. I don't produce puppies simply for the sake of selling to others.

I will be happy to help you in your search for a responsible breeder if you have decided the Shiba is the right breed for you.

My breeding program focuses on temperament as well as conformation.  Being a professional dog trainer for over 19 years temperament is very important to me. Shibas can live very long, healthy lives so it is essential that they have a temperament that a family will enjoy for many years.

If you are newly intrigued by the Shiba Inu and are thinking it might be the right breed for you please take your time and do a lot of research. Finding the right breed for your family is not something to rush into.

Genetics plays a very important role in the health and temperament of every dog. Finding a breeder that performs all of the basic health clearances and is selective about breeding dogs with stable temperaments should be at the top of your list.
